Temples and Fine Art Globes

Welcome to a Boyd family project! We are excited for this new way to display temple artwork in your home. Earlier this year Robert began working on a new way to share his temple photography through the use of light.  A lithophane (French: lithophanie) is an etched or molded artwork in very thin translucent porcelain or plastic that can be seen clearly only when back lit with a light source. Lithophanes date back to the mid 1800's when they were popular as candle shades and for night lights. After many months of experimenting with different software, filaments, 3D printers, and photographs we are excited to offer this revolutionized art form. Each globe at first appears quite plain, however, once the light is turned on a stunningly detailed 3d print is revealed. Each globe can be operated by touch or a with an included remote. They can remain plugged in for all day light, or can be unplugged and operate by it's included rechargeable battery inside. We can't think of a more enchanting gift or night light. Each globe layout is designed by the artist Robert A Boyd.
